YBM New College Prep Academy
Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM (EST)
YBM's College Prep Academy kicks off with a bowling tournament and parent workshop on the keys to college acceptance and scholarships.
While the young men enjoy a team building bowling tournament and lunch with like-minded college bound peers, the parents will have an opportunity to learn more about the keys to getting accepted and finding scholarships. Starting early is the first KEY. Parents will also learn about YBM’s College Prep Academy for Young Leaders.
The College Prep Academy (CPA) is for African American high school male students from 9th through 11th grade who are college bound and have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.0. This CPA includes workshops, community service, academic challenges and other life skills. The focus of the CPA is to develop critical success skills while building a strong college resume that will improve the chances of college acceptance and earning scholarships.
The parent workshop and bowling tournament will be held at Dave and Busters in Concord Mills Mall from 11:30am – 2:00pm. The bowling tournament includes 2 games of bowling, shoes and lunch for ONLY $15. The parent workshop is free.
